Skin Resurfacing

Everyday factors including sun, air pollution, stress, fatigue and smoking can take a great toll on your skin.

How it works

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology has replaced the harsh chemical peels dermabrasion treatments and long recovery times of the past. Ecolite IPL’s gentle and completely safe bursts of light can reverse the damage of years of exposure, removing age spots and visible blood vessels, revealing smoother, fresher and more even skin.

How does the treatment work?

A high intensity flash of filtered light is administered through the IPL applicator head. The pigment in the hair (melanin) rapidly absorbs the light energy, transferring it to surrounding cells and raising cell temperatures. This heat alters the cells making them incapable of further hair growth.

Can it treat all hair colours?

Dark hair is more easily treated due to the high concentration of melanin, which provides maximum light absorption and conversion of light energy into heat. White hair has no melanin and cannot be efficiently treated.

How long is the treatment performed?

Non-invasive and virtually pain-free, the glass applicator head is placed in contact with the surface of the skin. Light is pulsed through it and repeated area by area.

How long will the treatment take?

The treatment times vary according to the area being treated, for example an upper lip would take just 5 minutes to perform, basic bikini 10-15 minutes and half a leg 20 minutes.

“I had skin resurfacing with Dawn and was amazed at the clarity and texture of my skin within 2 weeks. My skin was sun damaged, dehydrated and ageing (even though I look after my skin and have a good regime, I know the sun has caused a few problems). I would definitely have the treatment again and look forward to looking fresh.”
